Our Houses are:
Houses at Gilcomstoun School
At Gilcomstoun School we have a whole school House Points system. Each child is allocated a House when they join us at Gilcomstoun and they will remain in this house for their time at Gilcomstoun (as far as possible siblings will be in the same House).
The House system aims to encourage a sense of pride and achievement in all children. It fosters a real feeling of belonging and being part of something bigger. Every child is encouraged to be a positive role model to others in their House and to take pride in representing their House.
House Captains and Vice House Captains
Each house is represented by their House Captain (from Primary 7) and Vice House Captain (from Primary 6). House Captains and Vice Captains are chosen by their House mates at the start of the new term. The other members of the House group vote for their preferred candidate.
As House Captains and Vice Captains pupils are expected to
Set a good example to other children and follow the school values
Represent the school in the wider community
Represent their House when collecting awards
Count up House points on a monthly basis
House Time and Events
Houses meet regularly to discuss and carry out activities linked to school improvement.
The House Group with the most house points in a month have their House coloured ribbons displayed on the House Cup in our trophy cabinet.
Houses will win rewards on a termly and annual basis. House Captains and Vice House Captains will be responsible for helping to choose their house reward on behalf of their peers.
At our end of year celebration assembly, the winning House Champions will be awarded a cup which is engraved with the name of the winning House.
